Raw Holiday Superfood Nog (nut free, sugar free)

This smoothie is very filling and sweet even though there are no refined sweeteners.  Chis seeds (yes the same ones you used on a chia pet) help give a thick texture, provide plenty of soluble fiber and protein, and contains one of the highest levels of vegetable based Omegs-3 fatty acids.  Hemp powder also packs a protein punch, while coconut meat and water help maintain glowing, hydrated skin in winter months.

For the Smoothie:

  • 1 youg thai coconut, meat and water
  • 1/2 raw yam or sweet potato, peeled
  • 1 Tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 Tablespoon hemp powder
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen pineapple
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Blend everything well and enjoy!
